DO NOT BUY FROM AUTOBAHN by Alex B. at InsiderPages
I purchased a certified preowned Mercedes ML from them. After taking the vehicle home and washing it, I discovered that the front and rear bumpers had been repainted. When I applied wax, the paint started coming off to the point where the yellow primer beneath the bumper was exposed. I immediately called the dealership to alert them to this. They said it is common practice for them to airbrush imperfections in the vehicles paint. We found out later that the car had the front and rear bumpers repainted when we brought it to a body shop to have a scratch removed. The body shop said the car had been involved in a collision and even showed us creases in the fender and overspray under the car. The seat tracks for the passenger seat were cracked as well. Most likely a result of the car accident. I guess certified pre owned cars do not check for collission damage.

We brought the car in for several malfunctions with the fuel pump, car alarm and electrical. We even towed the car in, because it would not start. Autobahn claimed they could not duplicate the problem (4 mos left on the warranty). When the warranty expired the car would not start again. We towed it to an independent shop and they diagnosed the problem in 5 minutes. It was the crank sensor. They said it was a common problem on all Mercedes. It costs us $150 to repair. They said Autobahn should have figured this out. Also the door locks went out on us twice. Autobahn claimed to have fixed it, but after the warranty expired the locks on the front doors went out. The light switches stopped illuminating.

Every time we went to autobahn for a repair, we found them to be exttremely rude. Service goes a long way in creating return customers. I think we will try Lexus or BMW in the future. I can not stress enough how much I HATE AUTOBAHN MERCEDES!!!

Bad Sales Experience makes me switch to BMW
I went in to Autobahn to pick up parts for my ML320, which is a POS car that we picked up at Autobahn Motors. We just found out that the Certified preowned ML we picked up from Autobahn Motors was in a previous collision. Both the front and rear were repainted according to the body shop we brought the car into. The rear pillars of the car have the clear coat peeling off, and we wanted them repainted. Terrible paint quallity from Mercedes Benz by the way. I have seen several ML's with the same peeling issues on the rear. I guess CPO cars are not inspected for collisions. Either that or we were mislead. There were countless problems with the ML that I cannot even begin to list. I am on the verge of switching cars.

I saw a 4 door Mercedes CLS sitting in the used car lot at Autobahn for $47,000. I went over to look at it. The doors were locked. The salesman in the lot saw me trying to open the doors. He made eye contact with me and walked away. I assumed he was going to get the keys for me. He went inside and hekped another customer who had just arrived. I was so stunned that he decided to ignore me. I was so upset that I left.

I guess it is not possible that 35 year old Asian Male could afford a $47,000 Mercedes. I was dressed casually, but maybe he was unaware of the $6000 Panerai watch I was wearing or the $70,000 BMW I drove in. I am not rich by any means, but I work hard for my money and expect to be treated with some decency.
News Flash, there are Asian people in the Bay Area that can afford to buy a Mercedes.

To make a long story short Autobahn will not be receiving any repeat business from me. They will be happy to know I just purchased a new 550i and the salesman at Peter Pan BMW was very helpful.

Hideously expensive but okay if your Mercedes is under warrenty
Autobahn Motors of Belmont is an exclusive Mercedes Benz dealership and service center on the mid-peninsula.
I can appreciate Autobahn's customer approach. My recent service appointment included a short 20 minute interview
conducted by the service adviser. I was instructed on the new 2008 models and was told how important it
was for me to have my Mercedes Benz maintained and serviced by Autobahn on a regular basis in order to avoid costly
repairs going forward. The facilities are very smart and I sensed that RIF-RAF customers are not allowed-in judging from all the security standing by. In fact, during my recent service visit, one of those RIF-RAF customers was ranting and raving so much over their bill, the security guards were called in... this incident was probably an exception and not the rule. Cheers to Autobahn for maintaining that feeling of luxury service by catering to select customers. I give Autobahn 2 stars. I would have rated them higher however after my Mercedes Benz 4 year warranty
expired, I had no idea how expensive it would be to have my car serviced by Autobahn Motors of Belmont. A recent 60,000 miles tune-up and check engine light
failure cost me $6,000. That's 11% of the original purchase price or 33% of the current book value. This seemed just a bit
costly for just a day in the shop however I said nothing, quickly paid and left the premises.

Great selection and service by Sam L. at InsiderPages
Autobahn is my favorite dealer and service department on the Peninsula. Knowledgeable staff, beautiful environment. My wife took her car in and was treated well. They also provided her with shuttle service while the work was being completed. A true pleasure to deal with.
