First Class Service
Tom Yocum and his crew at Auto Tech have been providing A-1 service for my vehicles for over 20 years. The vehicles involved have included 2 - 240's, one diesel and my two current models. Service has always been prompt, complete and dependable. On only one occasion have I had an occasion to return because of a problem. This was handled promptly and with courtesy. I have found Auto Tech if El Cajon to be extremely dependable and honest. Their recommendations for preventive maintenance have been accurate and saved me many dollars over the years. I highly recommend Tom, John and their associates to anyone. Jim Noel‎

Response to David from Auto Tech
David I am sorry we took so long to respond to your complaint. To be truthfull I did not know we had any presence on the WEB. After seeing your complaint I am sorry you had a bad experience at our shop. If you had brought this up when you picked up the vehicle we could have responded at that time on the spot. Our warranty policy is 12 months or 12000 miles and you are still covered by that warranty. If you wish to discuss this problem you can reach me at 619-588-5742 or E-Mail me at yocom@pacbell.net. We are always ready to do what is right. Sincerely Tom Yocom‎

Auto Tech Solved My S70 Fuel Problem
I took my 1998 S70 with over 200K miles to Auto Tech because it had a lot of deferred maintenance. I wanted to find a local Volvo repair shop that would do a good job but not be as high priced as the Volvo dealer. At Auto Tech, I was given options of how we could repair my S70. But the best experience was when the owner Tom, diagnosed my intermittent fuel delivery problem. By asking key questions and driving my car several times, he discovered a faulty part that the scanner would not pick up do to my Volvo's age. This was key since I was about to replace the fuel pump, the fuel filter and O2 sensor guessing it would solve the problem. My S70 gets better gas mileage now and I don't have to worry about losing power while on the freeways.‎

Crappy Volvo Repair Place
I wanted to like these guys because I love my volvo and want people with volvo knowledge to work on her, but they ripped me off a few times so I'll never go back Firstly, I went there because I could get the exhaust manifold nuts off in order to fix a blow seal on the block. While their guy was undoing these nuts he broke the spark plug wiring harness out of pure clumsiness. That cost me extra $$$. I also needed a new Air Mass Meter because the air box was stuck closed a burnt out the sensor. This is a common problem in 240's. They sold me the AMM but didn't fix the air box (probably hoping that I'd be back in 9 months looking for a new AMM). Lastly, I went in there because I was having a short in the wiring harness between the alternator and the battery - a common problem on the 240. I couldn't get at it without raising the car so I took it to them. I told them my diagnosis but they proceeded to insist that I had a dead alternator (which is about $300 on a Volvo). ...
