We love to go to the Athens Greek Restaurant whenever we are in downtown Mansfield. Their gyros are SO fresh and tasty! The desserts are wonderful, too, but you will find the gyro platter filling enough.

omg athens was the very first restaurant i ever went to here in Mansfield.they have the best gyro's & fries you could ever imagine..they are not expensive.but the food is very high quality.i don't know the name of their deserts but we buy them anyways they are all good.so if you don't know how to pronounce them they don't care.just point & smile they know what you are talking about.all the men & woman are so very friendly.its just like being at home.

This unassuming hole-in-the-wall eatery in downtown Mansfield has been around for years, and for good reason. It serves tasty, filling food at very reasonable prices. My favorite is the gyro platter--a pita loaded with meat, veggies, and sauce--and served with a heaping helping of delicious fries. The spanakopita was a bit odd. It was more like a thin empanada than the lovely spinach pie that I was expecting. Nevertheless, the Athens is a good value for the money if you find yourself downtown and hungry.

The Athens is a holdover from a time when the Square still meant something. Personally, I love the atmosphere. It's a local gem. Sure, it's not bright and shiny like a giant chain, but it makes up for that in being a truly unique experience. The food is great; and there's something for everyone. Picky eater? Well, they still serve hamburgers and fries. Vegetarian? Not a problem. Scared of lamb? Try a chicken gyro. I've been to Greece. This is as good as anything you'll find in Athens.
