If you are looking for a dentist, stop here. Of all of my visits to dentists over the years, my experiences with Dr. Mechev are the best by far! There are three reasons why I think Dr. Mechev provides, in all likelihood, the best experience you will ever have at a dentist office in the Chicago area. --(#1) HE HAS A GENIUNE CONCERN FOR HIS PATIENTS: ->Dr. Mechev does everything in his power to make sure I experience little or no discomfort. Unlike other dentists I have been to, he does not treat me like a lab specimen. Throughout the entire visit, he talks to me as much as possible, and tells me exactly what he is doing at all times. He displays my own x-rays to me on a big screen and explains everything I see. When you walk into the very modern dental office of Arlington Heights Dental, where the cordial smile of Dr Mechev greets you, you enter a world most associated with a spa experience - from the soothing music, to the mirror waterfalls, to the amazing HD TV sets playing tropical underwater scenes - you forget you went to the dentist. Most people associate the dentist with pain, but in this place, pain just does not exist. Dr. Mechev is proficient in putting the anesthetic, so there is actually no pain during the procedure ( I had today root canal, and many people associate it with a lot of pain, but it is not at all the case here) - you just enjoy the healing music in an amazing leather super comfortable chair. He shows you the process of what he is doing during the treatment on the big TV sets. He takes X-rays for 7 seconds that show on the big screen and you see the progress. I first saw Dr. Mechev in March of 2010. I had not been to a dentist in a very long time and I was very embarrassed about the condition of my teeth. However, Dr. Mechev made me feel very comfortable and told me he can fix all of my dental problems. That same day he removed a wisdom tooth that was giving me a lot of pain. The whole procedure took less than 30 minutes. I was amazed and felt absolutely no pain. Just today I had the other three wisdom teeth removed. I elected to go with local anesthetic as opposed to general anesthesia/sedation. Once again I felt no pain or discomfort. Even now, about 8 hours after the procedure, I feel great. Everyone I know keeps telling me their own horror stories of wisdom teeth removal, but I feel very good. I can recommend Dr. Mechev without reservation. He's very kind, gentle and professional.‎
