Steven Tapp is the BEST Colorist for Brunettes in the USA!

Los Angeles is the mecca city for blondes but, I love being a brunette minus the Gray.
I met Steven over 15 years ago when I started representing hair care products to salons in Los Angeles.
For many years I was lucky to have my hair cut and colored pro bono and was grateful but not thrilled.
About 5 years ago I went to Steven and PAID for my first salon service in 15 years and have never looked back.
Steven is a artist yet unlike some of his peers he is kind and down to earth, the spotlight is on you. ( a rare trait today as most stylist that work with celebrity clients tend to act like they are famous.)
If you have been coloring your hair at home to save money treat yourself to color with Steven, you will walk out feeling younger and pretty.

Who knew a beautiful salon and spa is located inside the Sunset Tower hotel....great staff and incredible experience. By far, my best haircut and massage, all in the same place. And then upstairs to the famous 'Tower Bar' to finish off the experience with a great Karma Tequila cocktail.

I must say, I never write reviews but I was compelled to because of my experience at Argyle.
My hair is extremely damaged, having had highlights and relaxer put in my hair over the last couple of years.
I stopped doing the relaxer about 3 months ago, and went to the Argyle to do the Brazilian blowout (Susie did it who is incredible and I will get to her in a sec)
I was very pleased with the results and it was no where near as damaging as the japanese straightening or relaxer, plus it wears off so you don't get nappy roots and bone straight ends.
Anyhow, I went to get my hair colored somewhere else in the valley, my hair was already a light golden brown but my roots had grown in and the color was getting a little brassy so I needed a bit of a touch up.
I went to a guy my friend recommended to me, and to cut a long story short, I went in asking for my roots to be lightened and my over all color more warm and golden, and cut to 2 hours later I walked out with almost black air. UNBELIEVABLE! I don't understand how these people still have jobs.

On a brighter note, I had an appt with Susie at ARgyle to do my brazilian again (you need to touch up every 3 months or so) and I explained what had happened to me, and if there was anything she could do.
My appt with her was originally just for straightening but I was her last client, so she told me she would stay and help me so I wouldn't have witch black hair for the holidays.
This woman is a miracle worker! she took my black blotchy hair and turned it into EXACTLY what I wanted before everything went haywire for me with the other (so called) colorist. My hair was a beautiful golden honey brown, rich, no blotchiness all even tone and such a pretty color.
She went on to do the brazilian which actually conditioned my hair after everything it had been through.

If there are any of you out there that need a sweet competent caring talented colorist or someone to straighten your hair. Susie is your girl. she is an angel

SO I WILL RETHINK IT, OTHERWISE IT WAS GOOD
