I generally like Ann Taylor LOFT clothes, but sometimes their clothing shrinks even when you follow the washing directions. I usually just shop there to get staple items such as t-shirts (which hold up marvelously well working around the house!) and perhaps a sweater.

The employees there can sometimes be too pushy at the desk about their store credit card--I always have to say "no" maybe at least 2 times before I'm able to pay. Always read the fine print on the back of their coupons too b/c sometimes they only accept them under special conditions!!

I have tried to shop here four times now, and each time I am 'non'greeted by the same snobby staff and have the very same expereince. I seriously thought it might just be my perception, but my friends have had the same experience. I am never greeted when I arrive, never assisted in the dressing room, and each time I have shopped there I felt like I was more of a bother and an annoyance. I have to actually 'try' to shop there, but never again.

The final straw came the last time I shopped there, which provoked this review. When attempting to use a coupon I was quizzed about where I got it, to the point that it was embarrassing to me. It was a gift card I was given upon my last purchase. The 'girl' at the cash register was trying every way in the world to get out of letting me use my gift card and scolded me about it! I was appalled to the point of amusement at her attitude. I suppose I was treated that way because I didnt dress up to go shopping that day... but I promise they will never treat me that way again.

FYI the AT Loft store in Louisville is exactly the opposite, and I am always greeted with a familiar smile and handshake, and the staff there consistently offer to bring me sizes and other selections to the dressing room. Also the AT at Fayette Mall is very friendly and helpful - I love those girls!

Just a note for you Hamburg... being snobby might make you feel great and important, but it's bad for business. I will NEVER be back.
