I took my cat to Dr. Jones after he hadn't been eating well for a few days. He wasn't sure what it was, so he gave him some fluids, an antibiotic shot and some take home antibiotics just in case he had some kind of infection. I took him home, he still wouldn't eat, so I brought him back the next day, and had blood work and x-rays taken, which up till this point I understand is all stand procedure. After getting the blood work and x-rays back he showed me these badly taken x-rays and proceded to tell me that my cats intestines were shifted over to one side and his liver was very small and that something must be causing this..and he thought it was some kind of fluid in his cavity. By this time I am becoming very concerned and upset..and he acknowledges this and procedes to tell me that this is probably what his father looked like before he died of alzheimers. Ok..my cat is only 4 years old and he eluded to the idea that my cat was probably going to die. Anyways, he referred me to a specialist for the next day, which we all no is NOT cheap. Bottom line, I took him to the specialist, she looked at the x-ray and said she had no reason to believe there was fluid in his cavity and if they shifted my cat around a little more and gave him another x-ray, his intestines would probably be in the right place (they move around a little bit). Bottom line..$500 later, it was just a HAIRBALL..don't waste your money on this uneducated vet.
