Knows medicine not customer service
I have to agree with the "Just Okay" review by Contributor. She seems like a very competent doctor and all her treatments have been effective. However her bedside manner is lacking. I feel rushed and talked at instead of involved in the decision making process on my animal's health. I also have often gotten the feeling that they try to up-sell thier clients. They give you a laundry list of what your pet "needs" without much consultation to the owner whatsoever. It gives you the feeling of being blind-sided and ripped-off. Even though the items offered are beneficial, they way they're pushed on the client does not intill ease or trust at all. I feel that she could involve you more in the whole process, not rush and be more intuative to what will make her clients relax and trust her.
As for her staff. Frances seems to genuinely care about the customer. Everyone else, however aren't exactly warm. I think they forget that people care about their animals and that a little bit of friendliness will put them at ease. The major complaint I've had is one of the Tech's took my dog's temperature with a regular human digital thermometer without even putting a cover over it. She simply sprayed it with somehting then wiped it down. Are they trying to spread microorganisms? My first visit, they used one with a cover that seemed to be actually made for dogs, not humans. Granted I'm not a vet, but that seemed like the more correct way to do it.
Their facilities are decent, as far as I can tell. The lobby is well-kept, however I feel that they could keep their waiting rooms cleaner. The tables was covered in dog hair (don't they wipe it down between visits?) and there are cobwebs in the corners. If they don't keep this area clean, then what about their other facilities? It doens't make them look good.
In conculsion, while I don't feel that they'd do anything to harm my pet, I also don't feel like they particularly care about my pet. I think they've givien my dog proper treatment (and that's most important) but if I ever find another competant vet whole actually involves thier clients, then I'll switch in a heartbeat.
