Analog, cool theme, good drinks & eats
Analog has a cool theme, good drinks & eats. I've been here a few times most recently for an industry event. It was packed. Even though it was busy the wait for drinks was pretty short and they were poured quite well. After a few drinks I went to the other side of the bar to get some food which was very good. I had the Dirty Sanchez - grilled cheese sandwich w/ sharp white cheddar, mild cheddar, mozzarella, jalapeƱos, bacon, on sourdough w/ a side of dijonaisse. It was delicious. They have lots of happy hours and all kinds of specials. Definitely worth checking out. :)

Serious blast back to the 80s, in a good way
I didn't know what Analog was all about when I first walked in. Anyone in my generation will appreciate the decor and vibe. The menus were in pee chee (sp?) folders and the bill came in a velcro wallet. I thought the latter was an excellent touch. We sat in a comfy lounge area and had a few drinks. We sampled lobster hot dogs (I think that's what they were!) and they were excellent.

As I was not trying to avoid a next day headache, I stuck with a glass of white wine. Next time I will get a cocktail or two. It's pretty spacious inside and again, I just totally dug the 80s vibe. It's like if someone walked in in Dolphin Shorts, no one would have noticed. Ok, maybe a few people would.

Strong drinks is right!
They don't lie they have very strong drinks. Ordered the mint julep and it was way stronger than expected. Their happy hour on Wednesday can't be beat, half off specialty drinks and two dollar burgers! The best drink we ordered was the peach mojito. Some people rave about their totchos, I'll have to go back for those , couldn't pass up the two dollar burgers. The best one was the portabello mushroom, super meaty and flavorful and perfect for snack size. The place is pretty chill especially on a Wednesday..very hip and a modern take on retro. Service was really friendly too.

Holy 80's Batman!
You walk in and walk back in time... to a time when Trapper Keepers were super cool and Madonna was still singing about virginity. Not to fret, they don't play all 80's music, they play a variety, although Tuesday are classic hip hop. As great as the atmosphere is, the food is even better! A few of their rad items include... totchos- tater tots done nacho style, prosciutto mac and cheese, various mini burgers- one even made of bacon wrapped meatloaf. That said, I was trying to be a bit healthy and had the veggie burger; it was enormous and tasted fantastic with just the right amount of tomatoes and grilled onions! We tried a few of the deserts as well, my favorite by far being the Twinkie Tiramisu. (forget that healthy crap)

They have great drink and food specials too! Tue-Sat 4-7 and all day Sun enjoy 1/2 off apps and lil burgers (yummers) and HALF OFF ALL DRINKS. Yep, even my Ketel Soda was half off.
Couple other fun highlights:
-Tuesday are discount martinis and tall boys (those are large beers for you classy peeps)
- Thursday is some DJ thing with karaoke- again more martini specials
- Saturdays is more karoeke with a live band behind you!

I would have gone 5 out of 5 but my first time there we had a waiter that seemed to be a bit distracted. My second time there all went fantastic.

Analog Bar: A unique hotspot in the Gaslamp!
I only have positive things to say about this place! If you're looking for a unique hotspot in the Gaslamp, Analog Bar has you covered!

FOOD: I would describe their menu as comfort food with flair! Tater Tots Galore!! and Gourmet Grilled Cheese! They have few veggie options but they're all delicious!

ENTERTAINMENT: Embarrass yourself with their live band karaoke! I never knew how difficult karaoke was without the screen that displays the lyrics! The band does a great job at helping you out when you're on stage with cues and playing the music a bit louder if your singing isn't music to my ears ;).

There's also old skool video games (remember Atari?!) throughout the venue that you can play.

DRINKS: Full bar with friendly bartenders!

DECOR: You'll reminiscence with Cassette Tapes and Trapper Keepers!

I absolutely recommend this place to locals and tourists! Great Job Analog Bar at creating a fun environment and alternative to waiting in line to pay a high cover charge to get into a stuffy club with over priced drinks!
