So awful, I'm reviewing it 5 years later...
I still refer to this as my worst restaurant dining experience ever. I was telling someone about it this evening, which is what inspired me to write this review.
My group of 4 made Valentine's Day (2004) reservations in advance as we were coming from out of town (Nevada and Idaho). We were told that the Valentine's dinner was a set menu. No problem.
After waiting a bit to be seated, our part of four was taken to a table that would have been small for a part of 2. Our knees were all smashed under the table, and by the time we left we sere stiff and sore.
The food was fine (nothing memorable), but took FOREVER to get... which I thought was odd considering the set menu.
When our bill came, it was wrong. We were charged for another tables entire alcohol bill (which nearly doubled our bill).
The decor of the restaurant is tacky and a little 'haunted house' if you ask me. And when we were there, it smelled very musty.
I know we would never, EVER go back. And I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. For the price, it is definitely not worth it.

Best restaurant in OC
I was really shocked to read the reviews on here. I surprised my husband for his birthday with reservations at the white house. We ordered the pasta sampler appetizer, it was delicious. Our server was so attentive, and the others made sure my water was always filled (which is a big thing since I drink a ton of water! most places can't keep up!) Our entrees were amazing, the shorts ribs were cooked to perfection! We finished with the souffle, one of the best I'd ever had. To top everything off, the server brought us complimentary champagne in honor of my husband's birthday. It really was a fabulous evening. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone I know!

very overrated!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The restaurant itself is ridiculously decorated, felt like we were at a wedding with with strangers all around us and very close to each other. No privacy at all, we all could hear each others conversations. Way overpriced was the food and drink. The worst souffle my husband and I have ever had, very eggy and soggy. We try souffles every where including Europe, they definitely have the worst!!!!! My husband and I eat out 5 nites a wk. and will never return or recommend this place to anyone, (maybe someone we dislike) haha

I've never written a review but seriously must...
We arrived to meet another couple for dinner, I called ahead asked for a back room because we brought our 5 month old- We arrive to find they have no note of our reservation, no big deal though, plenty of tables. We ask for a high chair. The wait staff brings a broken one with no strap, I ask for another so our baby doesn't fall to the floor. Our waitress (blonde, little) says "we only have ONE highchair here" I laugh, "guess most people don't bring a baby here huh?" she laughs says "Yeah, no, sorry" I put baby in the car seat, no problem. 30 minutes later they seat another family next to us. The family asks for a high chair, the bus boy brings one over with an intact strap. Ours by the way is still sitting at our table unused. Huh? I ask her should I order appetizer A or B (she comments while smacking her gum the whole time) finally decide on raviolis after asking what's better, etc...she brings both appetizers. Ok maybe my fault??? We let it go even though it is a $40 appetizer! Then, the waitress brings champagne to our table but SPILLS 3 of the 4 full glasses on myself and the wife of the client we are with. Waitress is flustered and tries to clean floor, does not bring napkins or anything to help guests. My dress and the lady next to me have been doused. Next we order dessert sampler (fabulous by the way). and are unable to finish. I ask her to box it up. No problem. She goes in back, returns, no box. I ask for it. No problem. She again returns with a few pieces that are obviously not the ones we had left. I point this out and she returns with 1 more box also not the same but I let it go. We give waitress a gift certificate to take $75 off the $400 bill (with absolutely nothing comped in spite of champagne incident) . She returns with bill, no credit of certificate. We mention it. She says you must have given it to another blonde waitress there are a lot that work here. HUH??? No, we say, it was you. She goes searching, comes back with bill again no credit. Point it out again so she hand writes discount in. Seriously laughable at that point. We walk our client friends and my husband returns to speak to a manager who was very nice (and by the way had no clue about the champagne incident) and did comp a few things but we will never return. There are too many good restaurants out there to choose from to put up with this kind of service.

6 months later i am still angry and you won't believe why.
my dad invited friends visiting from outside the country to what was supposed to be an amazing dinner. they don't really know any better...thank god. but i did.

dad spent over $1200 for 8 people.

let me preface by saying that i judge a place by comparing what it claims to offer AND what it charges WITH what it actually delivers. so if i go to Chilli's i don't expect Providence service (though that place sucked too).

i am a person who is grateful for my food and can live on bread and water quite literally though i have been fortunate enough to be able to eat every quality of food from the garbage they serve at fast food restaurants to the meals that never leave your mind. from the $20 for 2 to the $800 for 2; here in the united states, and abroad.

THIS place couldn't get "I'll have a steak well done please" right! (Not my order; the foreigners like their steak w/ no red or pink in it.) We sent back multiple steaks multiple times! our guests ultimately ate the steaks because they felt bad about wasting food.

the manager would not so much as discount the meal.
i wish i was exaggerating or being vindictive but that is a true story and should give you an idea of what you're talking about here. how do you screw up a steak well done???? i better understand the concept of bent spacetime than i do what happened here.

no, the food didn't make me ill although when the waiter offered these appetizers that had won awards i thought i was going to taste something special. yeah...no. i could name a 100 no-name restaurants that bl0w this place out of the water. they couldn't even cook potato gratin right! seriously?

ok, blood-pressure rising.

oh, and the ambiance...honestly laughable.

again, i am judging here by what is advertised. this is supposed to be one of the best in orange county! yeah...no.
