I love going to Amoeba, I always find everything I am looking for and then some. My husband is a trumpet player, and always has some rare requests for CD's for his birthday or Christmas, with a little time and flipping through used records I find what I am looking for. However, I hate flipping through racks, I have no patience for it. I like organized, easy to find shopping, I always have to prepare myself for that aspect of shopping at Amoeba.

The only problem with Amoeba is that every record or cd I request--which other stores have regarded as esoteric enough to warrant my institutionalization--is all-too-sadly mundane at Amoeba. But no complaints. The selection can't be beat, and the staff manage not to condescent, though their musical knowledge must be aeons beyond those of mere Earthlings. If you only go to one store in Berkeley, this should be the one.
