not what I had expected‎
My experience with Amazing Stone started off well enough. Jack Chan, owner or manager, was very pleasant to work with. He stayed close enough to answer questions without hovering over us. We came back three times and he showed no impatience. When we made a choice I liked the attention to detail--like having me write my name on the back so I would know the right piece was delivered. The problems came with the installation. Neither installer spoke English (though one thought he did) and I don't speak Chinese. I don't care about race, creed, color, or place of origin, but I do expect to be able to converse with someone I'm paying money to. I tried to explain, for example, that one end of the counter top ran too far past the cabinet, but I couldn't make myself understood. I also gave up trying to explain that the caulking was done very sloppily. All I got in return for my efforts was "You paint." I called Jack Chan, who was again very pleasant, but he explained ...
