Best Auto Body Work and Detailing by Garry G. at InsiderPages
I had bought a New 2008 Black Ferrari F430F1 Spider from and company in the Mid West. I had the clear bra installed, unfortunately they actually cut the clear bra on the car. When I removed it 6 months later I was in disbelief on why they would cut into the car. I had a company in LA repaint the car but when it was returned it had scratches and they botch the paint on the back.I dealt with Chris Amato and the car is BETTER THAN NEW... These guys are the best of the best and they will be getting all of my business moving forward... I have 7 exotic cars and no one else will work on my cars except for the crew at Amatos...

The best auto body shop in San Diego by Amy W. at InsiderPages
I have been hit twice in the last three years in two different cars. The last time, the car was 9 months new and received over $14,000 worth of damage. I highly recommend the shop and the workers in the office. They work with the insurance company. In addition, the employees at Amato's call you back when you call them and are very responsive. The turn around time is good. The quality of the fix to the car is above excellent. I can't say enough good things about this repair shop. The first time I used them was over 10 years ago and you could never tell that the car was repaired cosmetically. They are simply the best in San Diego. It is extraordinary to find the quality workmanship together with pleasant and efficient office staff that Amato's maintains. Needless to say, I highly recommend Amatos. Amy W, San Diego, CA

New Management = Crappy Service by Desiree D. at InsiderPages
I have taken my car to Amato's three times over the past 8 years. The first two times were both years ago while it had a different manager. It was first class serive all the way, no complaints, so I brought my car there last time I needed work done. Not a good idea!

It was nothing short of a NIGHTMARE!! There was absolutly NO follow up, they broke three things on my car, took no resposibility, and made me bring my car back two additional time to repairs the damages they made, but failed to do all of the repairs both times. I expressed my dis-satisfaction with the Manager, and he couldn't have cared less. He avoided my phone calls and left early every day I came to see him. It was just poor, poor service not to mention EXPENSIVE. And I drive a Lexus, so it wasn't a crappy cheap car they were working on. My insurance ended up paying over $8,000 to re-paint my car. I DO NOT RECCOMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE ANYMORE!!

Since Amato's is geared to do bodywork on the higher end cars, they charge considerably more than others. Many insurance companies limit labor charges to $48.00 per hour. Since Amato's charges $50.00, you must pay the difference out-of-pocket.. For major repairs, this can add up. If you pay this in addition to a deductible, you might reconsider.Overall, they are professional and do better than average work, with a specialty of straightening out poor bodywork done by other hacks. My experience with them is based upon their working on two of my cars on two separate occasions.
