My family and I were out at the Alley Cat in Broad Ripple on Tuesday, April 8th. I ran into a girl I work with named Cassie (stage name Sunshine). She was with her boyfriend, his friend Chris and Chris' girlfriend (a stripper at Classy Chassy). We shared a pool table with them.

Between games I went to the bar to get a drink. While leaning up agaisnt the bar I felt someone come up behind me and very familiarly run their hands down my sides and over my rear end. I turned around and it was this guy Chris. I told him very calmly and very sternly that this was not happening and he needed to back off right now. I said him "I'm not into this--you met my girlfriend." He said, "You're a f-ing d*ke? I'm a skinhead!" and showed me his shirt which said "Master Race". I told him I didn't like his kind and immediately headed back to the pool table to tell my family.

He headed back there as well and began to yell across the room that I was a "f-ng d*ke" along with a tirade of other offensive, provocative language. I walked up to him to tell him he needed to peddle his ignorance elsewhere. He grabbed me caveman style by the back of my hair and slammed my face against the pool table. I'm not sure what happened after this point, but I ended up across the pool table from him. He lunged toward me. My friends had all run out of the room to get the bartender so I was alone. I grabbed a glass and threw it at him. The bartender (Mike, we think--the older one with the ponytail and glasses) refused to call the cops. He came back with an "I'm breaking up a fight" attitude. Chris said, "Look at this drunk b****--she's destroying your property". The bartender then admonished me for breaking a glass. He said nothing to the man who had just committed a hate crime in his bar. Instead he stood there holding a piece of the glass up to me as if to say, "Look what you've done."

After this his crew gathered and left. They were not asked to leave.

If you know this guy or could possibly find out who he is please let me know. I filed a police report and the cops were very cool and took the case seriously. I just need to ID him and he will be arrested.

His name is Chris, MAY go by Chris Skin but don't know
35-40 years old
About 6 feet tall
About 200 SOLID pounds
very muscular build
really close buzzed head, dark hair
covered in tattoos, including an SS lighting bolts on the inside of his left wrist
Drove an old black car--late 50s or (probably) early 60s model

As for the Alley Cat, I will not go back until I get an apology and Chris is banned. He was heard by another bargoer that night sharing his politics concerning "n*ggers". According to some this is not the first time he has gotten violent at the Cat.

Please join me by contacting them and urging them to ban this dangerous person and tell them you won't be back until gay people, blacks and other ethnic minorities, women, and EVERYONE can be safe at their bar. This community can NOT stand by and passively support hate.

Being a Butler grad I have spent many a night drinking in broadripple and many a morning hungover wondering what I was thinking trying to outdrink the entire football team! I did, however, find the perfect cure. Take a short jaunt down a back alley to the Alley Cat & hoist yourself on the barstool for the best bloody mary (and hangover cure) there ever was! This is where I learned to make this "almost a meal" drink. Since then I have made it for others and even converted the unlikely tomato-hater to love this brilliant concoction. No one makes them quite like the alley cat, though. A definite must try.

Whenever I go to Broad Ripple to hangout, I always go to the Alley Cat first. This place has a great atmosphere, pool tables, cheap drinks, and photo hunt! The people are friendly, the service is fast and the music is pretty good as well.

Great breakfast menu, with friendly service and definitely an eclectic clientele!! A great bar with down to earth prices and tasty food!!
