Allen's Pool - a Company that does not back up their warranty
The previous owner of our Saratoga house gave us a 15 year warranty paper issued by Allen?s Pool who did fiberglass refinishing job on the pool in year 2002. This summer (2008) when we first used the pool, immediately we found out that the coating of the finish started to come off quickly, making the water murky each time we used. The pool inspector came back and told us the deterioration process is unusual for a refinish work that just was less than 7 years old.

We called Allen?s Pool. But signer on the warranty paper, David Allen, who is the owner of the company, refused to meet us in person or take responsibility at all.
They were very slow in responding to us. From the beginning they intended to push the responsibility back to ourselves for not taking good care of the water quality, even though we told them we have professional pool people come to take care of the pool each week. We even brought in the water to them for testing, and the result turned out OK, according to their tester.

Allen David would not give up pushing responsibility back to us. He came into my house and retested the water when no one is at home. Then he told us the Ph value is too low (7.2). Too low? It is still above 7.2, even if what he said was true. And what kind of lousy refinish job would make coating wearing off like that in 6 years?

He said he was not going to be fixing any thing for free. So to me their warranty is a piece of joke.
