I wish Id gone here in the first place. My dog had been limping on and off for awhile and I took him to another vet hospital. They hardly looked at him before charging me a couple hundred dollars for x-rays and said he needed a surgery costing almost $5000! Then implied that I must not love my dog very much if I practically didnt fork it over then and there. I asked the vet about if there was anything else I could do or payment plans (hey, I don't have the price of a small car in my back pocket) and the assistant rolled her eyes like I was wasting their valuable time or something. A friend recommended All Creatures and especially Dr. Garlinhouse and Im glad I went. She spent a really long time examining my dog, said she didnt need to take more x-rays right then and was really nice and gentle with him and then explained exactly what was going on and how it probably happened and the different ways we could fix it. I really liked she didnt pressure me to make any decision right then and there, she just showed me all the options and all the pros and cons, including going to a specialist. She said the really expensive surgery the other place recommended would work but we could probably fix him up just fine with a slightly different surgery that cost about half as much and would even cause him less pain than the other one. Plus she explained everything about how they do surgery and putting my dog under anesthesia because I was really worried about that. She took me in back and showed me all the equipment they use during surgery (wow) and what everything does and said that basically anesthesia is like driving on the freeway. If you shut your eyes and just go bombing on down the road youll be sorry but if you watch where your going and get out of the way of all those oncoming trucks your probably going to be okay 99% of the time. That made sense to me. The other place basically patted me on the head and said dont worry about it like I was being stupid to even bother them with it. Hey, its MY dog! I talked it over with my husband and we decided to have Dr. Garlinhouse do the surgery. I like that she could have recommended the really expensive operation but she recommended the one that she thought was best for ME and MY DOG not just her money making! Everything went really great. My aunts dog had an operation like this on her knee in Texas and she said her dog was throwing up and crying in pain for a week afterwards. My dog came home really happy (okay, pretty stoned) and was starting to walk on the leg a little bit within just a few days. That was two months ago and now hes running around like a puppy again. I thought what they charged me was really fair especially what they could have charged me for the really expensive surgery and also for everything my dog got here that they wouldnt have done at the other place. Plus what they said they were going to charge me was what they actually DID charge me, I didnt get a bait and switch runaround and an extra couple hundred dollars that they decided to tack on. My husband looked at our bill afterwards and showed me where they had done extra stuff like some x-rays and didnt charge me for them. They seem really honest and experienced and act like they care about my dog more than they do just making all the money they can. This is a great place.

I wish I had found them sooner!
I adopted a cat from the shelter and within a day of getting her home I knew she has some health problems. I was pretty gun shy about going to the vet, its usually an unpleasant, emotional and expensive experience. I found All Creatures ...

Knowledgeable and thorough
Okay, so I've had nightmare experiences already with the corporate vet hospitals and with the dirty, grubby place in the nasty neighborhood. I LOVE this place! I was pleasantly greeted and was shown into the exam room within a few minutes. ...
