Stay Away! by Steven D. at InsiderPages
If you are looking for a professional boat dealer for sales and service, I would highly recommend looking for an alternative to Ahlstrand Marine in Mundelin, Illinois.
I purchased a new aluminum fishing boat from them this past February 07 and had them store the boat for me until spring (which I paid for) Upon picking the boat up, the shrink wrap was not removed per my instructions, the boat was not cleaned at all-was filthy dirty. This is a new boat. No notification was given upon completion of my first repair and on the second repair, when I called after a one week time period after dropping the boat off to see if a technician had an opportunity to look at it, I asked the Ahlstrand employee on the phone, Hello, my name is Steve and I dropped my boat off over a week ago and was hoping. For a miracle? was the recipients snippy remark. Uh...not exactly, just if service has had an opportunity to look at my boat for a repair estimate. The fella at your counter told me to check in after a couple of days, I waited a week.
Both times my repair ticket stated that the motor had been run in the shop tank and both times
