My favorite restaurant
I absolutely love this place! I tried other Indian restaurants in the neighborhood, but nothing compares to Agra kitchen. I definitely recommend it.

great, spicy food
After Pradeep's left the Marina, I ordered this for delivery and was blown away by the quality of food -- great spices, cooked to order. I'm not sure if it's as healthy as Pradeep's but sure tastes good either way.

A bit of a letdown, but really affordable
I was overwhelmed by the great reviews I read online about Agra Indian Kitchen. But actually stepping in the restaurant and having dinner there was a letdown...

Positive:
It started off though with a nice word and chat of the waiter, which was really pleasant. Quite a lot of choice on the menu. I would rather have less choice so I have a better chance of being served with fresh food (not going to further whine about it in this case). The price is low; about $10-$13 for an entree.

Negative:
The atmosphere is not good (maybe 5.5 out of 10), not warm and welcoming. Food was not fresh; frozen vegetables and probably the lamb has been in the freezer too long also. I never experienced boneless lamb that's so tough! Despite that, the taste was okay, just okay. You might want to order an entree with the bbq entree. It's only dry meat with rice, no vegetables with it. Well... there were some onion parts.
The service started off well, but waiters were nervously looking for something to do and almost running around. While I was still eating, they were actually clearing the plates of my partner! Hahaha, we both really had to laugh. Even one of my plates was taken with some food on there...

Summary: If you're not used to good traditional Indian restaurants like Akbar (Marina Del Rey, Pasadena, etc.), this is surely a disappointment. But, you could see it the other way also and say: I only spent a little over $30 including tip and resulted in two filled tummies without doing dishes. :)
I would give it 2.5 out of 5.

Akbar here we coooooome!

Disappointment
Hey, went here because of review. It was far from what was said about it...I do not understand what people saw, unless they have other interests in the restaurant. They served a great salt lassi, and the potato naan was nice. BUT, I highly recommend finding another place. They served Jalapeno in the curry to make it "spicy". This ruined the dish. Have you ever had Jalapeno in an Indian curry? Ridiculous. And, the vegetables in the curry were the frozen bag kind. You know the cubed carrots, corn and such. I do not see how this passes anyone's palate. Also, the tea tasted like water, meaning it was watered down too much. When I commented on the lack of Chai taste, just tastes like water, the waiter, who was a very kind person, replied that they do use water to make it. SO, barring the humor, and the really kind and likable waiter, I think the food was terrible. I may be spoiled by having experienced great Indian food, but I think this place is a ridiculous place to rate anything above 1-2 stars. All the best luck.

Pros: good lassi, good naan, nice wait staff
Cons: terrible curry, Jalapeno as an ingredient is not even Indian, and frozen bag vegetables used
