Activcare Point Loma-Alzheimer's Care
First off, it is not difficult like they say, to "move" a person with Alzheimer's. From home yes and more emotional, but.. Moved father from another place that he was at for 1 year. Original care facility was supposed to be great but wasn't to us, maybe ok to good for him but not great. Activcare is working out so much better. Less cost monthly too good value- even for an individual room rather than shared room. The caregivers and housekeeping are very attentive, nice, not overworked, happy with their jobs. The administrative employees are great very helpful not pushy. We liked that they took inventory of personal items and keep up with it. The Activcare buildings are built for Alzheimer's-memory problems. Small safe facilities single-story around 50 occupancy max residents. Way better than the last place with 3x as many. Free and easy accress to outdoor patios for sunshine, nice patio furniture to relax with. Every day the residents are in the social area and are pretty happy, there's heavy emphasis by caregivers to bring residents out of their rooms to the social area, so as not to be lonely and away. Bedrooms are very clean upon movein and kept pretty well clean (Additionally, by no means does any part of this place have a strange smell!) It's centrally located and easy to get to. My family's very happy and my father is out and about the place. He's lived there 3 months and everything w/Activcare has remained consistent.
