1. Ace Hardware- I was actually surprised by the variety of things ace hardware sells! It’s not just a guys hardware store that’s for sure. I went in search of some tools for planting and some small plants and ended up buying a few household goods as well. The staff was friendly, they even offer to help carry heavy things out to the car. I went for plant items, and they have a pretty good garden center you can get most of what you want. The one thing I was looking for though, a planter for a railing, they didn’t have. I also was slightly disappointed by some of their little vegetable plants they were selling such as eggplant which had holes all over the leaves and tons of ants..made me wary of buying it that’s for sure. For other products though, Ace Hardware provided what I needed.

Much better than going to Home Depot & they are helpful as well. Just don't take cell calls at the register!

I have been to this ACE now several times as a result of various repairs and/or modifications that needed to be done on my house. While the staff seem to be knowledgeable enough, they're not terribly friendly.

This Ace does have quite a lot of items, and reasonably good selections (brands). However, we were unable to find a Hoover vacuum belt that fit in our vacuum when we tried to fix it.

The largest reason that I'd go here instead of Home Depot is it's highly convenient location--hard to beat down the street. And I think that is what they have going for them. Perhaps they're trying to recreate the "neighborhood hardware store" atmosphere...if so...it needs a little work.

So my opinion overall is that it's good if you need something NOW to get the job done. Otherwise, save yourself the headache and the time and go to Home Depot (the employees there are friendly AND have the aisles memorized!)
