I just finished my 3ed year in college and I needed financial help to live my college life. I was able to obtain a job as a tutor. I was able to work with students near campus and I was able to set my own schedule. Sometime the families would cancel sessions due to illness or family gatherings, but I was able to reschedule with them. Its a flexible job and it gave me the opportunity to work with children near campus.

I got a call for this job and was immediately interested in the position. I attended training and went through the process. This is the first job I've ever been fingerprinted for. I didn't think it would take me a long time. I know a few people that were cleared within a few days. I knew I didn't have a bad record. I would call in pretty frequently. Finally I was cleared but I was concerned that there weren't any students available. Fortunately there were plenty of students to tutor. After all that trouble everything wasn't bad. I read the guidelines and called in or emailed when I had questions. The office is more respondent to email inquiries.

As a teacher and a tutor, I feel great making a difference and getting paid for it! The students don't always pay attention. But once they understand the material, it is rewarding knowing that they have learned something.

I currently have a full time job in an office setting... It gets boring. So I searched for a chance to tutor. After working here as a tutor I felt fulfilled that I'm contributing something to the world. I would see the students after work (my office work schedule is 9-5) and some weekends. I got to know the students and their family. The students I worked with improved in school and in their confidence level.
I've recommended this job to many people and they have also had a good experience.

After being terminated from my office job, I found solace in this tutoring position. I was able to set my own schedule and didn't have to commute far from where I lived (I saved a lot of gas $). The student's and their families are really great and offer a great learning environment.
The office staff is also very helpful. Whenever I had difficulty speaking with a family or an issue with the paperwork I submitted, the office staff helped me resolve the issue (it was usually me forgetting to sign off on my own work).
Now that I have a full-time job again, I plan to continue working as a tutor.
