Horrible place
I took my year old Sun Conure Parrot here one evening because I noticed he was acting a bit strange, like he wasn't feeling well, so to be safe I found this clinic in the phone book. The receptionist (who was kind of rude) told me to bring the bird in and that there would be an $85 emergency visit charge--which seemed reasonable at the time. I took my bird in and waited around in the room for a while until the doctor came in. His website says that he is trained with birds, yet he didn't seem to know much about them. he said he was going to put Charlie (my bird) in an incubator over night--this is standard practice--and that I could go. I felt really uncomfortable leaving Charlie there, but I assumed "doctor knows best" so I left. About two hours later the vet called me to tell me that my bird had died and I needed to come get him. I was horrified, and completely distraught. I arrived to the office in tears and they (with total lack of compassion) handed me my dead bird wrapped in a paper towel. Next they told me that I owed them about $1000, but since the bird was dead that it was only going to be $700. only. I was such a mess that I didn't even argue with them, but now I really wish I had made a bigger deal. This place is ridiculous, and in all honesty, I think I would still have my Charlie if I hadn't taken him here.

for the record--NO STARS

OUCH!!!
My dog had a seizure around 9:00 pm. This was the only place I could think of that was open. Lady at front was very rude to start with. Given this was what I thought was an emergency, the lady insisted that the "emergency" visit cost of $85.00 be paid first. The dog started a seizure again and I asked her to get the vet. She was not listening to me and finally I had to yell to get her attention. (No one else in the place at that time). Finally, she called someone...another tech who stood there and watched. Eventually, the tech said bring him back. All he did was a temp check. Then the vet came in and looked at his ears. This was the $85.00 chg!!!! Vet said it could be several things and while he was discussing the different things that could be checked, the front desk lady left the room. Next thing I knew, she presented me a bill for $1,200 for the vet to "check" things. At this point, I felt very uncomfortable with what was going on. Given I didn't understand what was happening and/or why it was happening to the dog, I decided to have the tests run. He asked for a $1,000 "deposit". The list of items included 3 xrays at $80 each plus $45 to review them, $97 to examine him. I'm sorry, what was the $85 for??? $71 to keep him overnight and a bunch of other costs. I called the next day after reading reviews here, which only confirmed my original thoughts of this seemed very over the top and had him stop what he was doing. All of the samples had been done with nothing being found wrong. I did some checking on the internet to find that there are several different types of seizures dogs can have. The vet never discussed these or even mentioned the various types. My dog suffered through 2 that night and, based on other symptoms seems to have had a "cluster" seizure. Anyway, I'm taking him to another vet for evaluation. The whole thing just seemed very odd and awkward. I would never go back to this guy. Other vets that I have been too always talk about an elimination process. They start with something and eliminate possibilities before moving to the next item. And, they always let you know what they are doing and why they are doing it. This guy just wanted a blank check to do whatever he wanted without really saying why. Don't use him...that's the bottom line...

the worst! stay away!
I called prior to inform them that my ferret was suffering from an allergic reaction to a distemper vaccination. On the phone a women stated that the vet on call was familiar with ferrets. Upon arrival they made me fill out info giving my SNN and credit card info and charged me $98.50. Then made me wait another 30 mins for the vet which knew nothing. He injured my ferret trying to take its temp and nearly dropped him after being bitten.(obviously had never even held a ferret in his life!) he argued with me for nearly 30 mins stating that he had a parasite and gave my a quote of 218 to save his life. he told me to pick and chose which medications i wanted to give!! All of which were too high of a dose and would most likely kill my ferret. I told him he just needed injectable benedryl and the doctor ask how much I wanted to give him???!!! I walked out now taking legal action.

Absolute Worst Vet I have ever had
I never write reviews for any type of service or experience but this one is well deserving. First we had been out of town and let someone take care of our dog. We came back into town and she had bloody and runny stool and was in obvious distress. Unfortunately I used the yellow pages and it was on a Saturday afternoon so Dr. Javaid's office was the only one open except for emergency clinics. They could see us immediately so we went and I was very surprised that they wanted payment for the office visit up front but we paid it anyway. The very young and new assistant was very nice and helpful, she stayed in the room with us trying to help our dog. When the vet came in we were immediately aware of his lack of knowledge and were surprised when he asked questions that was already written on our dog's chart. Some things we had to answer several times since he was clueless on what to do. He charged us for a stool sample and then came back with a quote of over $700 to "figure out" what was wrong, $400 of which was miscellaneous. We asked about the charges and it was obvious he was trying to dismiss us and was unable to expertly answer any question we had. The assistant was noticeably upset about some of the answers the vet was giving us and she even had a small discussion about our dog's care with the vet. I immediately started looking for other vets on the Internet and I noticed the horrible reviews from other clients and we left.

Rip-off
After Hurricane Ike, my rabbit had a stroke and was paralyzed. My regular vet had no power and I couldn't find a vet to put our rabbit down. I finally got the number to this clinic and was quoted $65. My husband drove an hour and a half to get there, to be told it would cost $180.00 He went ahead and paid it since the rabbit was in obvious pain and we had no other available options due to most vets being closed. I feel like we were ripped off. When I told my vet, he said I should report this clinic for price gouching (?). I think they took advantage of the situation with the Hurricane and didn't really consider the pet. I would not recommend tis vet, find an honest caring one somewhere else.
