Best brisket I have found
Abbeys Authentic Texas BBQ serves what is probably the best beef brisket in San Diego. I do not know why it is so hard to find a good brisket. I have had some amazing brisket in Texas a few times, and have spent a lot of time trying to find the best brisket in California. Nothing that I have found is equal to what you can get in Texas, but Abbeys is pretty close. The meat has that great smokey flavor that you look for, and also the texture that is important. It’s kind of a mix between firm and tender, if that makes sense. The BBQ sauce at Abbeys is great as well. The only downside is that the food is a bit on the pricey side, about $12 - $15 for a decent brisket meal. But as an every once in a while treat, I can highly recommend it.
