Located in the greater Portland metropolitan area, Hillsboro is the west side county seat of Washington County. Although it was settled not that long ago, today much of the area has become what is known as the “Silicon Forest,” in honor of the technology companies that call it home. At a little over 90,000 residents, the Tualatin Valley city is growing steadily, due to its proximity to Portland, Oregon. The city has a beautiful moderate climate that makes it ideal for fishing, hunting, food gathering, and agriculture. Railroads, gorgeous parks, and wineries help characterize the region today, especially areas of the city like Triple Creek, which is known for its mountain views and hand-crafted brews.
