Great Custom Framing Service (With Coupon)
When I was an aspiring artist as a teenager 20 years ago, I used to go in here from time-to-time for art supplies. I long since gave that up, however, and so hadn't been in here for over 15 years until a few months ago.
I had been meaning to get a couple of poster-sized prints custom framed for a while, but never seemed to find the time to get that done. I was also a little leery of the potential cost of custom framing in general. Then one day we received a coupon in the mail from Aaron Bros. for 60% custom framing. I had heard some mixed things about their custom framing service, "But if not now, when?" I asked myself. So off I went.
And you know what? I had a great experience. The guy in the custom framing section was very friendly and helpful. I took several of his suggestions and I was very, very pleased (surprised, even) by the end results. They really exceeded my expectations.
That being said, I do have a constructive criticism. The guy who worked there continuously made suggestions about alternative framing styles or materials without ever mentioning relative price. I had to ask him a few times about that. When I did, he always answered knowledgeably and in a friendly way. But he never volunteered pricing information himself, even after I asked the first few times. This left me wondering wether I was being steered toward more expensive options, in a way that was effectively negating the value of my 60% off coupon.
Because I have so little experience with custom framing, I'll never know for sure. When he tallied the total price, it was above the high end of what I had anticipated, even after the 60% discount. I would not have gone forward without that coupon, as a result. But because I have things custom framed so rarely, I may well have unrealistically underestimated the likely cost. That may be my fault. Again, I'll never know.
But I am really happy with the results nonetheless, even for the price.
