While on a swamp tour, a woman and her kids from California mentioned to my
wife and I that they had spent the previous night at a place not too far away that they enjoyed very much. She gave us the phone # and address and we decided we would stop by to have a look. Claudette, the owner, is very friendly and enjoys sharing her local knowledge with visitors. She pointed us to a seafood restaurant that was very casual and very good. As we settled in for the night she made us feel welcome and at home. When I tell people back home in Vermont how friendly the folks in La. are, it is mainly Claudette I have in mind.

My stay at "A Chateau on the Bayou Bed & Breakfast" was very, very nice.

I would reccommend this place to anyone looking for relaxing, peaceful, and clean accommodations.

The Chateau on the Bayou Bed and Breakfast was a warm, friendly, and comfortable experience. The owner could not have been more accomodating and hospitable! The rooms are in great condition--fresh smelling, comfortable, clean, and neat. The country decor is very refreshing. The house itself is spaced just perfectly on a beautiful piece of property overlooking Bayou Lafourche, which can truly be breathtaking if you've never experienced that type of relaxation. If you choose to stay, which I highly recommend, please take time to enjoy rocking and relaxing on the back porch or take and afternoon nap on the hammock set up right close to the bayou (weather permitting, of course). Reserve your room quickly b/c you are sure to enjoy!!
