Forget the 'net - ABW's the most shopper-friendly NC bridal salo
Their prices are way wider than this site's "Rangeā. I had a problem with another bridal store messing up my order so I took a chance with A Bridal World.
Wish I'd gone there first. They know how to treat a customer! Granted, the atmosphere is a little sparse (they said they're in a temporary location; I understand) but they make up for it with great values and even greater employees.
They have a broad selection of gowns right there in the store, even for a large size woman like me. They sell right off the rack; what you try on is what you can buy NOW. The best part is that there's no "will it fit me?" question like I wondered when I had ordered my gown from another store (or via the 'net).
I noticed that many of their gowns are one-of-a-kind, which they confirmed. I LOVE IT. One of my coworkers was p'd when she went to her friend's wedding - friend was wearing the exact gown my coworker bought just weeks before; both came from David's Bridal.
After I told my coworker about my great experience, she took her new gown to a consignment store (ARound Again?) then bought a better gown from A Bridal World.
Something I learned from my consultant is that no one working at A Bridal World is on commission. That made me feel better when she asked me to try on a gown that I normally would not have even considered. My consultant sure knows her stuff. "Try it" she said, "You have nothing to lose and it won't cost you to just try it." That gown didn't look good on the hanger, but when I put it on I didn't want to take it off. IT WAS - AND NOW IT IS - MY GOWN!! Like I said, "She knows her stuff!" And she wasn't pushy.
Forget the Internet. Forget David's. If you want REAL service and selection, you MUST go to A Bridal World. But words of caution: Their stock keeps changing. If you see the gown you love but you don't buy it then and there, you're CRAZY! A bride came in while I was there & found that out the hard way. Her dream gown was sold; GONE! She was in tears! I felt sorry for her. Don't make the same
