I was tremendously impressed with Dr. Heidt's professionalism and her extensive medical knowledge. She is truly compassionate about her patients and treats their human companions with a calm assertive dignity.

I was very unhappy with the female veterinarian Dr. Stephens. Not only did she charge me a full exam fee (for a follow up visit) but she also stated that there wasn't anything she could do without paying hundreds of dollars beforehand. This veterinarian doesn't appear to care about the welfare of your pets, only what extra add ons for service she can charge. She will not give you options for care even though other methods can be used. My first visit to this hospital was pleasant (with another doctor) but I will not visit this hospital again.

I have been taking my dogs here for years. THey are so great and have ALWAYS helped my dogs. The only downfall is we pretty much always seem to get lost finding this place in Pacific Beach!

I'm going back tomorrow, so I'll edit then with an update.
My first impressions were all good. Driving up, it was very easy to park. I got there and was immediately taken to an exam room where one of the techs was in a matter of minutes. Receptionists, techs, and vet were all EXTREMELY friendly. Since this was my first kitten of my own, I was very grateful for how easy they made my experience.
I marked this review satisfactory because my kitten has either ear mites or an ear infection and they did not catch this in her initial check up. This leaves me feeling a bit uneasy, but I will ask how they missed it during her second appointment. They were very knowledgeable when it came to the URI she had, knowing and offering the same medicine she had been prescribed at the shelter.

Dr. Lewis is a very caring and a very thorough vet. He follows the philosophy better safe than sorry that I totally agree with. He also prefers to identify the ilness by running lots of tests which decreases the possibility for misdiagnosis and mistreatment of an animal.
If he feels that he doesn't have enough expertise in a certain field he will refer you to a specialist and make sure your pet gets the best possible care.
Dr. Lewis is a very good vet!
