94th Aero Squadron
This is a really cool and fun spot with a lot of charm. A bit out of the way unless you work around convoy Kearny Mesa but worth the drive and experience. It's located inside a replica of a french WWI farm house overlooking Montgomery field packed with cool old aviation memorabilia. Aside from the charm the staff is great and the food is delicious. Great place for lunch, dinner and they have a good Sunday brunch. Great place for business lunches.

Novelty Eatery
The 94th Aero Squadron is more of a Novelty Eatery, than fine dining. While they serve a diverse and thorough menu, you can certainly get better food elsewhere. Their Sunday brunch is pretty good, and relatively inexpensive, as brunches go. It can be a fun place for kids and families as you can listen to air traffic control and watch air planes take off while you eat.

It can get busy during Happy Hour as I think they do drink specials and appetizers, and the brunch can also get pretty busy.

It is not some where I would go specifically for the food, but to give my kids a fun dining experience.

great venue, food is just ok.
We had my dad's 65th surprise birthday party here since he loves aviation. The venue is definitely very unique. Our large party was given the entire back patio where you can actually see the runway and see planes taking off and landing. The service was good and they were very accommodating when we had a few additional guests attend unexpectedly. The food was just ok. The buffet bar is huge with all sorts of typically brunch options, but I didn’t think the taste was anything spectacular. Plus, at least in our case, drinks were not included, which wasn’t a big deal, but something to note. Overall, it’s a great place to check out once because of the fun, unique venue but I wouldn’t expect amazing food.

Sunday Brunch
Their Sunday brunch is on a par with the Hotel Del. If you get there between 9 and 10 AM you get the Early Bird special. and there's free champagne to boot. Well worth the trip.
