my go to spot for mexican food.
I've been going to this place ever since I was a teenager. It's too bad they changed from 24hrs to selected closing times. I prefer this place to the overpriced and hyped Albertacos. Who the heck wants to wait forever for an overpriced and CALI burrito in a crowded drive thru? But I get why they changed from 24hrs to actually being closed. The location is completely horrible. If you didn't drive by the Stater Bros, you wouldn't even know it's there!
The prices are pretty fair and they are flexible about making your order to suit your taste. I also find that they have a wider selection than Albertacos. I believe they just began taking debit/credit cards but there is a surcharge... (not sure how legal that is). But I'm not complaining.
I'd recommend getting the chimichanga or carne asada fries (skinny fries, not the thick ones). Or my favorite, a California burrito but instead of carne asada, you ask for pollo asado. The chicken is not dried out like the carne asada (A.K.A. the California Chicken Burrito).
Note: not many places include sour cream in their California burrito even though that's a STANDARD ingredient. However, at Armando's, its standard.

Best stater bros I've seen so far!
From what I understand, this is the first Stater Bros in this region to be built purposely to be a Stater Bros. Meaning, they didn't take over an old store which is why I love this location. It looks nicer than all the other Stater Bros in the region.
Anyways, the staff has always been helpful even when I rushed in there like 5 minutes to closing to grab a bunch of items. Also, the store is always clean which makes it easier to navigate to whatever I need.
The only downside is that regardless of what I wear, once I walk by deli section, I always end up smelling like that area. No bueno.
Anyhoo, this is a solid location and recommended just cuz its better than all the other stater bros (if i haven't said that already)!

Oh my god, the checkout lines here drive me insane. There aren't many people working or not enough knows how to ring up because the lines can be forever long. The place looks so dated inside that it makes me not want to come here at times when the products are cheaper than its competitors.
In addition, I wasn't too happy with some of the service here when it came to ordering meat which apparently they weren't offering any ground beef. He cited that he took the machine apart. And the bakery/deli selections seems lackluster due to appearance and curiousity on how long its been out for?
For me, I drive the extra distance to go to Stater Bros Carlsbad in Bressi Ranch because 1) its newer 2) cleaner 3) staff is friendly and helpful 4) cheaper tax.
Price range is estimate on how much I spend each time I come here lol.

Lost in yogurt-lation.
So i'm lactose intolerant... so that leaves me with well... only 1 flavor here. Which is disappointing cuz I gotta wait til it runs out before they try a different flavor. But this place does deserve to get 3.5 stars. I would've given it a 4 but deduction for the lack of variety of non-dairy "faux-gurt" Its not bad for this area... really it isnt... I just don't understand why they would rename a froyo place near the Krikorian Theaters "Fruttos". Same company they say... different results.
For all you lactose people, I like their berry flavor faux-gurt.

Nicest McDonalds most people will ever go to.
This is probably one of the better McDonalds in the country. The food is pretty typical of what you would expect but the place itself looks really nice and offers Wi-Fi. It's convenient for me because its across the street.
The burgers are the same as any other McDonald's but they have a nice McCafe where you can buy frappe's and coffee at prices competitive with Starbucks which may be McDonald's way to expand and develop a broader customer base.
They have a lot of promotions and as a plus for UCSD students they do take TritonCash. They offer a variety of extra value meals for $2 off every night and run their own promotions which is likely given that the demographic that surrounds the locale is students.
The hours are pretty late for people who like to eat late. Though I wouldn't recommend it.
